Information on jewelry appraisals

Why should I have my jewelry appraised?

Insurance companies require appraisals for any items you want to insure.  These appraisals should also be updated about every 5 years to adjust for market value.

Family and Estate Attorneys

We also work with  attorneys for divorce and estate appraisals.  These appraisals are different than your typical insurance replacement appraisal.  In this case, the value needs to be a market buy back value of the items being appraised. Appointments can be made to view  items in your attorneys office and are completed by a G.I.A. Graduate Gemologist.

What do appraisals cost?

Insurance appraisals  for a single item start as low as $75.00.  Items with large amounts of stones that need to be counted and measured, or multiple jewelry items are usually charged by the hour at a rate of $175.00 per hour.
